Research activity: Near-Miss Incident Database

SMRC(Smart Mobility Research Center) develops Near-Miss Incident Database in the real traffic world in Japan. Drive recorder data acquisition started 2005, currently 150,000 incident events with visual/physical data and evaluated tags, were accumulated in the Database. This world unique Database is our research competence.

The Database is to be used for research activities:

• Design and assessment of active safety device and autonomous drive system
• Accident/incident study
• Road infrastructure improvement
• Traffic safety education, etc.
