Seiji Hotta (堀田政二)

Seiji Hotta was born in June 1975 in Aichi, Japan. He received his B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees in engineering from the Kyushu Institute of Design (which merged with Kyushu University in October 2003), Japan, in 1998, 1999, and 2002, respectively. He joined Nagasaki University in 2002 as a Research Associate. In 2007, he moved to the Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology (TUAT), Japan, as an Associate Professor, and has been serving as a Professor since April 2025. His research interests include the design of induction models for pattern recognition, subspace classifiers, image and video retrieval, and the integration of Eastern philosophical perspectives into Western scientific paradigms.
